		<description>
	Cybernetics, or Ghosts? &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Edited by Michael Salu&#38;nbsp;Edited by writer and artist Michael Salu, fifteen of today’s most daring writers from across the globe read and respond to Italo Calvino’s seminal essay ‘Cybernetics and Ghosts’ with rich and expansive works of fiction.In Calvino’s essay, first delivered as a lecture in 1967, he provocatively suggested that writing could one day become a computationally reducible process, speculating that machines might eventually become sophisticated enough to reimagine the singular author’s human’ parameters’ and write literature with the same dexterity as us. What, then, will become of the human author? With the digital age now spanning decades and computation determining almost every aspect of our lives, do we think clearly and imaginatively enough about our relationship with machines?As a human echo to the datasets driving artificial intelligence, Calvino’s prescient ruminations catalyse the ideas in this anthology, creating a networked artwork reminiscent of the experimental literary group Oulipo. Contemplating the many ways myth and technology shape the human condition and reflecting on the power and importance of stories, Cybernetics, or Ghosts? offers a rich, intricate web of collective storytelling full of humanity, ingenuity and critical ideas.Contributors:∀ i, Iphgenia Baal, Steve Barbaro, Blake Butler, Lisa Hsiao Chen, Tice Cin, Innocent Chizaram Ilo, Shingai Kagunda, Kelly Krumrie, Andrea Mason, Kuzhali Manickavel, Geoffrey Morrison, Rion Amilcar Scott, Simon Okotie, Mandy-Suzanne Wong.ORDER (EU &#38;amp; UK):&#38;nbsp; http://surl.li/aouryzORDER (USA):&#38;nbsp;http://surl.li/pkziay

	Fifth Quarter: Derek Jarman, Keith Collins &#38;amp; Dungeness &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Edited by Alexander TuckerFifth Quarter: Derek Jarman, Keith Collins &#38;amp; Dungeness brings together collaborators, friends, contemporary artists, writers, musicians, and curators to respond to the influence and legacy of Jarman and his late partner Collins.
Drawing inspiration from the captivating landscape of Dungeness and Romney Marsh alongside Jarman’s expansive body of work, the book gathers contributions and reflections from the past and present, cultivating a merger of history and memory, which explores the deep bonds between art and nature.

The Princess and the Knights  &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;
Andrei BelyJames Ginzburg TranslationWritten between 1909 and 1915, this collection of poems by Russian symbolist master Andrei Bely is available in English translation for the first time. While loosely thematically linked, these psychedelic pieces create a kaleidoscopic and fragmented coherency out of the shattered stained glass of romantic tales of chivalric knights. This limited edition is a faithful recreation of the first edition, which was published in 1919 by Alkonost in St. Petersburg, and follows Bely’s experimental typography. Bely used visual devices in his poetry as a musical score, guiding the reader’s recitation, and is generally considered the first Russian poet to experiment with the layout of text, having perceived it as an essential dimension of the poetry itself.
Andrei Bely (1880-1934) was a Russian author, poet and essayist best known for his novel Petersburg, which was regarded by Vladimir Nabokov as one of the four greatest novels of the 20th century. Often associated with his symbolist peers, Bely’s writing, with its colourful, mysticism inflected, and virtuosic prose and poetry is singular. Bely was a close follower of Rudolf Steiner, and while deeply influenced by him, Bely’s personal syncretism gave rise to a metaphysical expression within his work that is distinct from Anthroposophy.
